From Caprona follow the indications for Calci, after approximately 1 km, to a
cross-road turn left Asciano direction. After Gabella you reach the crossroad and turn right towards Agnano (km 4,5). When you arrive to the small village of Agnano you have to drive the cementated road (via Tobler) , it goes back the southern mountainside of the Pisani Mounts, covered by great forests of holm oaks. After approximately a kilometre, pass through a detour straight on, and continue driving to right on the main one, than after some meters it becomes a dirt road.
After avoiding two detours on the right, this cross country road arrives to the Monte Faeta slopes and then to Sella di Campo di Corce (km11,5; 612 mt. above sea level), on the crest of the Monti Pisani. Driving very slow you proceed on the 00 track and after 20 meters we continue on the right dirt road ( red and white “marked road”, path n.02). It cuts across the rocky mountainside of the Spuntone of S.Allago and after a short uphill, it begins to come down towards 550 mt. altitude and then uphill to Colle di Calci (km15,8; 722 mt. above sea level). Cross the road and come down towards S.Andrea di Compito, but after 50 mt., to a hairpin turn on the left, enter the marked 00 road to arrive in Colle di Prato di Calci (km 17,5; 801 mt. above sea level). On the top hill take a break to taste the atmosphere and panorama in front of you. Continue on the main path to arrive on the top of Monte Serra (follows road signals of RAI antenna tower) and do not pay attention to following two roads on the left. Following the red and white signals of the marked road arrive to the highest areas of the mountain (km 19; 896 mt. above sea level), after few meters these red and white signals left the main road and come down left towards a bar. As soon as entered into the forest at a crosss-roads, continue straight on and after few meters you arrive to a fork and the main road has a right curve. At intervals the road goes on through the forest and arrives to the asphalted road on the left. Driving on this for approx 1 km and arrive to Prato Ceragiola (km 21,5; 635 mt. above sea level), then continue on the main street Calci-Buti.

To arrive to Prato Ceragiola you can choose between the following options:
1) drive on the aspahalted main road for 2,2 km to arrive to the pass
2) drive on the right dirt road towards Ruota. After less than a km close to a big turn on the left continue to a smaller dirt road (path 29). Drive to Pianbello and continue on the right. Continue on this road, without paying attention to the fork which arrives to Buti and arrive to Agriturismo Serra di Sotto (path 26). After few meters there is a hairpin bend on the asphalted road Buti – Castelmaggiore, drive for a km and you reach Passo di Prato Ceragiola (this option is a little longer than the previous we described).
Drive on the wide dirt road towards the Shrine of Monte Serra and leaving on the left the detour towards it, drive on the main road. After few meters this dirt road become worst till Passo Prato a Giovo where you will see an artificial lake and a great green field. At the fork straight on right on the main road to Prato Arreto (km 24,5; 650 mt. above sea level), where you see a big wooden cross. From the
top of the hill, drive down on a road, in few meters is cemented, called the Lombardona. You will admire water drainages and high brooms and the road alternates steep moments to quite ones. Reach the Montemagno road and drive on the right. After 300 meters leave it to drive on a steep mule track. Continue for 200 mt and it becomes level land of Monte Verruca (km 29; 480 mt. above sea level) it finishes near a wide clearing. Here turn to the right dirt road towards Caprona and be careful of the insidious road surface. When declination decrases the road surface is better and you reach some olives terraces around the hill of Torre di Caprona. Cross the bar and turn on the left Crespignano road, towards Caprona (km 32,5; 12 mt. above sea level).
